Brief
When the team at The Victoria Hotel Yarraville reached out to us, they had a clear vision but a challenging brief: to transform a height-restricted outdoor space into a vibrant, family-friendly area that would draw in parents and kids. The outdoor space, previously occupied by tables and chairs, had plenty of potential, but they needed something unique to set them apart in a growing, family-oriented suburb. The solution? A RhinoPlay playground.
Solution
Our design team set out to deliver a tailored solution that balanced fun for the kids and practicality for the venue. By cleverly utilising the corner of the building, we were able to create a thoughtful, space-efficient structure that complemented the existing layout. The goal was simple: to provide an engaging and safe play space for kids, where families could relax and enjoy the outdoor seating nearby.
The Range
The Cube range was the perfect choice for the job. This modular system offered incredible versatility, allowing us to configure it to fit the available space with ease. Its contained design not only ensured it met all safety and compliance standards but also made it incredibly low-maintenance for the hotel staff—a true ‘set-and-forget’ solution.
The result
Although the space wasn’t overly complicated to work with, staying true to the brief was crucial. We focused on creating a playground that maximised value for the hotel and its patrons, while maintaining simplicity and functionality. The result is a dynamic play space that not only meets the needs of the venue but enhances the overall experience for its guests.
